Vietnam Asks Netflix To Stop Online Games Because They Haven't Pocketed A License

JAKARTA - Vietnam asked Netflix Inc to stop advertising and distribute its game in the country before April 25. Netflix has not been granted a license for gaming services.

"Vietnam demands Netflix comply with Vietnamese regulations regarding online gaming services," the Electronic Broadcasting and Information Authority (ABEI) said in a statement on its website.

"We ordered Netflix to stop advertising and publishing Netflix video games on the Netflix app and on Vietnam's Appstore and Vietnam's Google Play Store before April 25," the statement added.

The streaming platform, which has been ordered by the government several times to block domestic access to various content, is working to open an office in Vietnam, according to a Reuters report.

Netflix is starting to enter the world of gaming by launching the Netflix game on mobile phones in November 2021.
