Impressive! Lack Of Selling Last Year, GMC Hummer EV Sold 1,668 Units In Early 2024

JAKARTA - A significant increase in sales was achieved by the General Motors (GM) company through the GMC Hummer EV electric vehicle (EV) product in the first quarter of this year in the North American market.

Reported by Motor1, Thursday, March 4, the first passenger car powered by Ultium architecture was reported to have sold up to 1,668 units during that period, or jumped drastically to 83,330 percent compared to last year's acquisition.

Of course, this figure looks impressive considering last year Hummer EV only sold two units in the same period. Meanwhile, the brand posted sales of 3,260 units of the model in the US and Canada over the past year.

This car has a manly design language following its predecessor with an ICE engine, GMC Hummer, but with a fresher modern touch.

Hummer EV also has a large enough power from a dual electric motor with a magnitude of 570 dk and a variant of three electric motors with a power of 1,000 dk.

Meanwhile, the model has a large capacity battery of up to 246 kWh weighing up to 4,082 kg which only provides a range of 500 km and 613 km. In the US market, the GMC Hummer EV is sold for 98,845-106,945 US dollars (equivalent to Rp1.57 billion to Rp1.7 billion).

GMC Hummer EV is not the only GM electrification model that earned impressive sales in the first quarter. Cadillac Lyriq managed to sell up to 5,800 units or experienced a surge of up to 499 percent.

The achievement was followed by other models such as those from the Chevrolet brand with an EV Blamer of 600 units and a Silverado EV of up to 1,061 units. Meanwhile, Bolt and Bolt EUV maintained the throne as the company's best-selling EV in the early quarter with sales books of up to 7,040 units.
