Ford Mustang Is Still The Best Selling Sport Car Globally
JAKARTA - Ford Mustang started its seventh decade with brilliant achievements! This legendary sports car is again the best-selling in the United States based on registration data for new vehicles in 2023. Not only that, Mustangs have also been named the best-selling sports car globally for more than 10 years!
In Ford's release, quoted April 2, throughout 2023 based on S&P Global Mobility data, more than 59,000 Mustang units were sold. This figure also contributed to the achievement of nearly 1 million "pony cars" that Ford has delivered in the past decade.
Success in 2023 is driven by the launch of the seventh-generation fully new Mustang in North America. Mustang lovers in China, Europe, Australia, and South America are also promised to feel the sensation of driving with this latest Mustang in 2024.
"We've sold more Mustangs in history compared to the population of big cities like Chicago, London, or Seoul," said Jeff Marentic, General Manager of Ford North America.
Towards the celebration of Mustang's 60th birthday, the same passion and enthusiasm continued with our seventh-generation Mustang, which is now heading into the hands of customers in 85 countries around the world, he added.
As part of the celebration of Mustang's 60th birthday, Ford this week showcased a special Vermillion Red and Ebony Black logo at the New York Auto Show. The logo is inspired by the emblem and central wheel cover on the Mustang which debuted at the 1964 World Exhibition.
The seventh generation Mustang owners can also celebrate their anniversary with an exclusive new feature that will be present in their car around April 17. To get this special feature, owners need to activate the "Auto Software Update" in the "Settings" menu via their SYNC 4 touch screen.
This fully new seventh-generation Mustang is the latest chapter for the legend. The car comes with an unforgettable style, sound, and attraction. Available in convertible or couple options, turbocharged V8 or 4-cylinder engines, manual or automatic transmission, Mustang offers a variety of options with varying price points and performance levels. Mustangs can also be seen competing in circuits and racing championships around the world with variants of Dark Horse R, Mustang GT3, and Mustang GT4.
