VIDEO: Prabowo Subianto Invited To Meet With Chinese President Xi Jinping
JAKARTA - Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto arrived in Beijing on March 31. Head of the Public Relations Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Defense Brigadier General Edwin Sumantha said that this meeting was in order to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Arriving in China, Prabowo was immediately greeted by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Sun Weidong, Chinese Ambassador to Jakarta Mr. Lu Kang, and the Indonesian Defense Attache at Beijing Brigadier General Benny Poltak. Then Prabowo headed to The Peninsula Beijing hotel and was greeted by the Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun, Kabarananan Kemhan, Kabainstranas Kemhan, Director General of Defense at the Ministry of Defense, and Director General of Defense at the Ministry of Defense.
And on Monday afternoon local time, Prabowo will hold a bilateral meeting with Xi Jinping. As well as Tuesday afternoon Prabowo is scheduled to meet with Chinese Prime Minister and Chinese Defense Minister Admiral Dong Jun. Chinese media Global Times wrote there was great hope from both sides to continue to maintain friendly relations.
However, they also wrote that analysts felt there was doubts about Indonesia's alignment with the rivalry currently being carried out by China. Analysts see that Indonesia will insist on non-blocking policies and play a more active role in dealing with regional issues. Watch the video below.
