KSP Calls The Government Transition Team Directly Led By Jokowi

JAKARTA - Main Expert Staff of the Presidential Staff Office Ali Mochtar Ngabalin said the government transition team would be formed and led directly by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"God willing, it will be led directly by President Joko Widodo and I think it will take a while," Ngabalin said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 1.

Ngabalin emphasized that the transition team from President Jokowi's administration to the elected Prabowo-Gibran pair would be formed, although he did not specify the exact time.

The authority of the transition team is also a privilege or prerogative of the President.

Ngabalin believes that the transition process for the government in October 2024 will run smoothly and quickly.

"I'm sure it will be smooth and in a very fast time," he said.

A number of experts and observers from various institutions assessed that Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka needed a home or transition team with a clear function after the announcement as winners of the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres).

The transition team not only functions to synchronize President Joko Widodo's policy with the next government, but also facilitates the preparation of the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet.

Previously, presidential candidate number 02 Prabowo Subianto during a speech to investors and bankers in Jakarta in early March, believed the government transition in October 2024 would run smoothly.

The reason, Prabowo said that because he and the Forward Indonesia Coalition were part of the 'Presidential Team Joko Widodo'.

"God willing, I will be sworn in on October 20, and I think the transition (of the new government) will be very smooth, because as you know, of the three pairs of candidates, my team openly recognizes us as part of President Jokowi's team. We are not ashamed to admit that," Prabowo said during a speech at the Mandiri Investment Forum 2024 event.
