NASA Tests CADRE Exploration Robot On Mars Crevice

JAKARTA - NASA is testing two models of robotic rovers known as the Cooperative Autonomous Distributed Robotic Exploration (CADRE). The robot is planned to be used to explore the Moon.NASA has put two CADRE rovers on Mars Yard. This testbed designed like the Martian surface is on the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (CPL). According to NASA's recognition, the robot has been in Mars Yard since last year. While in Mars Cirangan, NASA tested the hardware and software inside the CADRE. This is done so that CADRE can achieve its main goals and can advance together in the form of formations while facing obstacles that exist on the Moon.CADRE utilizes solar panel support, just like other NASA-made rover robots. However, during testing, only one robot model uses solar panels, whereas the other robots can read battery levels with each other. The role of the robot without solar panels is quite important. They can know when it is the right time to rest and recharge their solar power. Once resting and charging, these robots will follow the exploration in tandem. In addition to testing its solar panels, NASA is also testing driving at night using the big lights. This is done to simulate the shadow and extreme lighting that will be experienced by the CADRE robot during the day on the Moon. "Some travel is made at night under the big highlights so that explorers can sense the shadow and extreme illumination that they will encounter at noon on the moon," explained NASA's JPL some time ago. CADRE plans to participate in NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) initiative. This robot is expected to land in the Reiner Gamma region and, complete the task and, independently and record data, without explicit orders from mission controllers on Earth."
