Nissan Will Take Advantage Of Partnerships With Mitsubishi Presenting Electrification Models To Pikap

JAKARTA - In order to strengthen the automotive market in North America, Nissan together with his alliance partners Mitsubishi intends to present the latest electrification and pickup vehicles.

Reporting from Carscoops, Monday, April 1, these two well-known companies will trade electrification technology by producing electric vehicles (EVs) from Mitsubishi, Nissan with plug-in hybrid (PHEVs), and pickup trucks.

The plan will help both of them overcome difficulties in the development of electric-based vehicles and can cut development and production costs.

North America is one of the largest pickup vehicle markets and Nissan is likely to present a new model as the successor to Frontier.

Meanwhile, Mitsubishi is likely to bring Triton to this market. However, all of them were blocked by large taxes of up to 25 percent for imported vehicles in the region.

Manufacturers can outsmart it by presenting a new pickup model produced in Mexico and can add a hybrid or EV drivetrain option to that line. Unfortunately, an official decision has not been announced in the near future.

In addition, Nissan will also take advantage of this partnership by presenting plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles for the US market.

Although it is not yet clear what this model will look like, manufacturers can take advantage of Mitsubishi's technology on the PHEV Outlander model that has been poor across the country of uncle sam. This SUV has a 2.4 liter engine with two electric motors driving a combined power of 248 dk and a torque of 450 Nm.

Furthermore, this car has the ability to go as well as a pure EV thanks to a 20 kWh battery pack that can reach up to 61 km in one charge.

Mitsubishi will also use technology from Nissan in developing EVs. Even though it is only a rumor, the manufacturer with the logo of the three diamonds can take technology from Nissan Ariya for its latest electric car.

The crossover is equipped with an electric motor measuring 389 dk and a 599 Nm torque equipped with a 63 kWh battery and 87 kWh, which can reach a distance from 348 km to 489 km.
