JAKARTA Australian boxer, Tszyu Team is now looking at the rematch against American boxer Sebastian Fundora. Tszyu lost 12 rounds in the first match to be held at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Saturday night (30/3/2024) or Sunday morning in Indonesia.
Not only losing points, Tszyu also lost the WBO version of the junior middleweight title (69 kg) in a duel that should also compete for the WBC version of the title. Tszyu lost slightly after the two judges gave a score of 115-113 and 116-112 for Fundora, while one jury won it 115-112.
The Tszyu vs Fundora duel, dubbed the 'Towering Inferno' because its 198 cm tall posture was really exciting. Apart from being beaten up, the match was also marked by continuous blood spills until the last round.
An accidental elbow from Fundora made Tszyu spit blood on her forehead. The Russian boxer's Cutman was unable to stop the blood from flowing, which made the Tszyu vs Fundora duel truly 'blood bath'.
It's a good fight. Fundora is very high and has a very long hitting range, making it really difficult. Moreover, he was an impromptu opponent who was bullied just a week before the D day, so all my preparations became chaotic," said Tszyu, as quoted by The Northern Daily.
