Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya: Cross-Sector Synergy Overcomes 2024 Eid Transportation In West Java
Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi appreciates all his staff in West Java (West Java) who continue to increase synergy with cross-sectors in overcoming Eid 2024 transportation so that it can run smoothly and safely.
"I am very happy with this cohesiveness. The West Java Police Chief, Kakorlantas, and the Military Commander have conveyed all security strategies in detail so that it remains to be implemented later," Budi said as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, March 31.
Budi appreciated the collaboration between the central government, local governments, the TNI/Polri, and various parties in securing and preparing for the 2024 Eid Transport, especially in the West Java region.
During the meeting, Budi conveyed special things that needed attention in West Java, including trips on the Cipali and Cisumdawu Toll Roads and the potential for over-distion overloaded vehicles (ODOL).
"Homecomers parked on the shoulder of the road will be a problem. I appreciate the plan for a persuasive approach from the police to assign policewomen to curb travelers on toll roads," said Budi.
West Java Police Chief Inspector General Akhmad Wiyagus admitted that he had anticipated the number of vehicles that would enter the jurisdiction of the West Java Regional Police, both through toll roads and non-toll roads, namely Cipali, Cisumdawu, Jagorawi and arteries in the north and south regions.
"We will carry out collaborative synergies and coordinate with other stakeholders, be it the TNI, Regional Government, as well as several elements of society who are directly involved in securing homecoming and backflow," said Akhmad.
The West Java Regional Police predict the number of vehicles leaving the area during the Lebaran 2024 period through toll gates as many as 1.86 million vehicles. This figure is up 5.94 percent compared to the Eid 2023 period and an increase of 54.13 compared to normal days.
Akhmad appealed to the public to take advantage of free homecoming, both prepared by the Regional Government and Polda.
"We also pay special attention to tourist bus entrepreneurs so that they really pay attention to the condition of the vehicle in good condition, it is appropriate so that it does not cause unwanted things. Driver abilities and conditions are also considered," said Akhmad.
Meanwhile, Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin said that in preventing congestion, the local government had made various efforts, one of which was to provide subsidies to andong's coachmen in the spilled market area, including in Tasikmalaya.
"Andong was asked not to operate during the Eid homecoming and homecoming period, and his coachman received a subsidy change as long as he was not operating," he explained.
