Never Give Up, Rinov/Pitha Struggle To Win Spain Masters 2024
JAKARTA - The achievements in the badminton world have again been given up by Garuda's best talent. Mixed doubles Rinov Rivaldy and Pitha Haningtyas Mentari won the title at the 2024 Spain Masters. This achievement means a lot to these two athletes. Furthermore, they will try hard to compete on the Olympic stage.
"This title means a lot to us because the opportunity to enter the Olympics is still very open," said Rinov in a statement published by Antara, Sunday, March 31.
Rinov/Pitha won the Super Series 300 tournament after beating Cheng Xing/Zhang Chi 17-21, 21-12, 21-13, within 54 minutes, in the final.
The sixth seed revealed that the key to their victory is confidence and courage in implementing the strategies and patterns of play that they have prepared.
"The last three years have been a test for us but we are still trying to come back again and maybe this is God's way today we can get to the highest podium," said Rinov.
Meanwhile, Pitha said this title had a lot of meaning for them.
Not only maintaining the hope of qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics, but also repeating their achievements at the 2021 Spain Masters.
"We are just sure that everything that is fighting for will have a result somehow, so keep trying while the opportunity is still being given," Pitha said.
Pitha presented this title to the family, coaches and mixed doubles team, PBSI and all behind the scenes.
"After this we will focus on maintaining health because it will be jetlag and taking care of our minds as well after five tournaments in Europe must be tiring. Our task is not finished, there is still an Asian Championship to ensure tickets to the Olympics," Pitha said.
