Erick Thohir Will Make Sanur Bali A Healthy Area For Elderly Tourists
JAKARTA - The government will build the Sanur, Bali area into a world-class Health Special Economic Zone (KEK).
Especially for elderly tourists. Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said this wish was based on the potential that Sanur has.
Erick Thohir said that the Sanur area is different from other areas in Bali. Hence Sanur was deemed suitable for the project.
"We see abundant potential in Sanur as a health tourism destination. And a renewable future world health. The position is different compared to other parts of Bali. We want to attract tourism, especially elderly tourists," he said in the Investor Forum 2021 webinar event, Wednesday. , February 3.
According to Erick Thohir, the government recorded 41 hectares of land in Sanur, Bali. The land will later be the initial stage of development. This project is believed to open up great opportunities for investment in Indonesia.
Moreover, currently the government has finalized the derivative rules of Law (UU) Number 11 of 2020 concerning Work Creation (Ciptaker) related to investment. That way, the former Inter Milan boss will make the investment process easier in the country.
"We want to attract health tourism, especially the elderly. This potential is added to the Omnibus Law recently passed, and 41 hectares are ready for initial development. This opens up new investment opportunities for the health care industry, and makes Sanur a special economic zone for health tourism. "We are very pleased with the potential synergy between the government, BUMN and local and global investors," said Erick.
Based on Erick's presentation material, of the total 41 hectares of land to be developed, 21.2 hectares will be allocated as a health tourism hub with a number of facilities, including international hospitals, ecoparks, commercial areas and art markets as well as hotels and hospitality schools.
The government is currently aggressively encouraging the potential for health tourism or medical tourism. The development of medical tourism is considered to be able to attract tourists and at the same time encourage the improvement of health facilities in Indonesia.
Not only that, the development of domestic medical tourism is expected to reduce the visits of Indonesian people abroad to carry out health checks.
