What's New In The Case Of Abu Widow? Police: Still Running
JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri said that his party was still investigating two reports on the Arya president alias Abu Janda. These two reports use the Information and Electronic Transaction (ITE) Law (UU).
"(The case) is still ongoing," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, to reporters, Wednesday, March 3.
Then, is there any possibility that this report ends in peace? Rusdi cannot confirm yet. What is certain, he said, is that investigators are still studying the two reports.
"What is clear is that efforts are still being made by Bareskrim Polri to follow up on the case involving Abu Janda. We will see all of these developments going forward," he said.
This case has returned to the public's attention because it emerged when there was a discourse on revising the ITE Law. In fact, the National Police Chief has also issued a statement asking his staff to selectively select the handling of ITE cases.
For information, Permadi Arya alias Abu Janda was polished from his tweet on social media which was deemed insulting Natalius Pigai by using the word 'evolution'. Apart from that, he was also reportedly accused of racism and the mention of arrogant Islam.
