Ganjar Chooses To Be An Opposition Instead Of A Ministerial Position

JAKARTA - Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo prefers to be outside the government rather than fill ministerial positions in the upcoming government.

The former governor of Central Java prefers to be outside the government so that the check and balance mechanism is maintained. One of the main goals of this mechanism is to avoid the strengthening of power in only one institution.

"If I was outside, maybe it would be much better because checks and balances would definitely happen and more great in their respective groups, especially if we see a lot of teams or political parties supporting the candidate pairs, they must also have hope," said Ganjar in his statement, Tuesday, March 26, quoted by Antara.

Ganjar also expressed his gratitude to those who offered the ministerial position regarding the discourse of forming a major coalition by political parties that carried candidate pair number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

He considered that the offer of ministerial position would be better aimed at political parties in the coalition carrying Prabowo-Gibran because it would be more fair. In addition, quite a number of political parties are in candidate pair 02.

The presidential candidate, which is paired with vice presidential candidate Mahfud Md, emphasized that it would be more respectful if it gave flexibility to the candidate pair who won the 2024 presidential election to determine the cabinet and it would be better if he was outside the government so that democracy would be healthy.

Therefore, he continues to communicate with Ganjar-Mahfud volunteers at home and abroad to carry out various activities. This is to realize ideas or ideas by paying attention to the reality that takes place in the community.

For example, Ganjar-Mahfud volunteers in the United States (US) have carried out routine political education so that the people are politically literate.

"I told volunteers, come on, politics can be great if we have high integrity, have the same good intentions. Politics will be destroyed if we only talk about power," he said.

In addition, Ganjar said he would return to being an ordinary people after the Constitutional Court (MK) announced the decision on the dispute over the results of the General Election of the President and Vice President (PHPU) which is scheduled for April 22.

He and the volunteers will carry out community-based activities in the fields of political education, the environment, strengthening MSMEs, and empowering the poor through education.

Ganjar also conveyed a message to volunteers and future governments. He thanked the volunteers supporting Ganjar-Mahfud and emphasized that there would be no futile struggle.

"But fate, Allah has determined. So there is a lot that we can do for the people so that whoever is determined by the KPU and it wins, October he is appointed," said Ganjar.

"Give them the opportunity to rule and we can provide support in various ways, which are good. We support, which is not good for us to criticize and those in power if criticized, their ears should not be thin, because that is our love for the Republic," he concluded.

It is known, on March 20, 2024, the KPU announced that Prabowo-Gibran won with 96,214,691 votes. Meanwhile, candidate pair number 1 ranks second with 40,971,906 votes.
