"It is true that currently eight TNI members from Yonif 300/Bjw have been detained and examined by Pomdam III/Siliwangi," said Kapendam in Jayapura, Monday, March 25, which was confiscated by Antara.

The case was revealed after a video of violence against a resident by several people using military attributes circulated on social media (medsos). He explained, after receiving reports related to the circulation of the violence, then Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih conducted an in-depth investigation regarding whether the video was true or not.

"Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih has given attention to deepening or identifying whether the video is true or not and revealed if the video is genuine," he said.

Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih then formed an investigation team against the incident and collected data and legal evidence.

"Tim selain ke TKP untuk mengumpulkan bukti sebagai proses hukum, namun juga berkoordinasi dengan Pomdam III/Siliwangi untuk melakukan pemeriksaan terhadap prajurit yang diduga melakukan aksi kekerasan," kata Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih.

This was done to create Papua a peaceful land so that the Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih always emphasized to avoid bloodshed.

"The investigation continues to be carried out in order to complete evidence of elements of violation of the law so that it can be improved in the investigation process, so that law enforcement against soldiers suspected of being perpetrators of violence can be held accountable for their actions," said Lt. Col. Candra.
