Former Chairperson Of The Lamongan DPRD Responds To KPK Calls Regarding Corruption In The Construction Of The 2017-2019 Regency Government Office

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today summoned the chairman of the 2014-2018 Lamongan Regency DPRD H. Kaharudin and a number of officials from the Lamongan Regency Government (Pemkab), East Java.

They were examined as witnesses in the alleged corruption case in the construction of the Lamongan Regency Government office building for the 2017-2019 fiscal year.

The KPK on Friday (15/9/2023) announced the start of the investigation process for the alleged corruption in the construction of the Lamongan Regency Government office building for the 2017-2019 fiscal year.

However, the KPK has not disclosed the identities of the suspects. This will be announced after an attempt was made to force the arrest or detention of the suspect.

In this case, the KPK has conducted searches in several places, one of which is official offices in the Lamongan Regency Government, as well as the Lamongan Regent's official residence, as well as private homes and offices.

The KPK estimates that state financial losses due to the alleged corruption crime will reach around Rp. 151 billion.

In this case, the KPK examined Lamongan Regent Yuhronur Efendi on Thursday (12/10/2023) as a witness in the alleged construction of the Lamongan Regency Government office building.

"I was examined as a witness and during the examination there were several breaks," said Yuhronur after an examination at the KPK building, Jakarta, Thursday.

Yuhronur admitted that he forgot the number of questions asked by KPK investigators to him during the examination. Regarding the suspect and who was summoned, he asked the media crew to wait for the KPK announcement.

"It's going to be later. I don't feel good about it," he added.

Yusronur said that he was summoned as a witness in the case regarding his capacity at that time as regional secretary of Lamongan Regency.
