Sri Mulyani Reveals Debt Financing Will Drop Sharply In March 2024
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) noted that until March 15, 2024, the realization of debt financing through the issuance of debt securities or loans reached Rp72 trillion, down 60.3 percent year on year (yoy).
Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that from the realization of debt financing, among others, it was obtained through the issuance of net state securities (SBN) of Rp72 trillion or 10.5 percent of the target of Rp666.4 trillion.

"This figure is compared to last year's March 15, so our debt financing has decreased sharply," said Sri Mulyani in a press conference on the APBN KITA, Monday, March 25, 2024.
Meanwhile, on March 15, 2023, the realization of debt financing reached IDR 181.4 trillion.
According to Sri Mulyani, current debt financing until March 15, 2024, has decreased by 60.3 percent (yoy).
He added that the issuance of SBN also decreased by 58.6 percent (yoy) when compared to or last year reached Rp169.5 trillion, and net loans also decreased by 84.5 percent (yoy) or last year reached Rp11.9 trillion.

According to Sri Mulyani, the fulfillment of the financing target until March 15 is still on track or as planned, in the midst of volatile financial market conditions.
"We will continue to maintain that in the implementation of this financing, it is still maintained based on the conditions of the money market and bond market which are greatly influenced by conditions from the global economy and sentiment, so as not to be affected by financing," he explained.
Sri Mulyani conveyed that the debt financing strategy will also be carried out flexibly and opportunistically covering aspects of time, amount, tenor, and mixed instruments, as well as currency mix.
