The Government Will Replace The Damage To The Houses Of Residents Of The Bawean Earthquake Victims

GRESIK - The government will replace the damage to the houses of Bawean residents, East Java caused by the earthquake according to the criteria, whether lightly, moderately damaged or heavily damaged.

Head of BNPB Lt. Gen. Suharyanto said that residents' houses that were heavily damaged would receive compensation of Rp. 60 million, moderately damaged Rp. 30 million and lightly damaged Rp. 15 million.

"This includes educational institutions or other public facilities (Fasum) such as mosques and prayer rooms that were damaged," said Suharyanto when inspecting the evacuation sites for earthquake victims on Bawean Island, Gresik Regency, Sunday, March 24.

He ensured that the emergency handling of the Bawean earthquake or Gresik Regency was going well. "From the initial stage, starting from data collection to handling, we prioritize all needs to be met for victims of the Bawean earthquake," he said.

Suharyanto also asked the public to remain vigilant and not panic too much.

"Based on BMKG predictions, so far there have been 229 earthquakes and there is no potential for a tsunami. The intensity or volume of the earthquake is decreasing and small. Hopefully this will end soon so that residents can return to being safe and calm," he hoped.

On the same occasion, Acting Governor of East Java Adhy Karyono said that the government will also immediately meet the basic needs of earthquake victims on Bawean Island.

"God willing, today the ship carrying the needs of earthquake victims, starting from ready-to-eat food, blankets, diapers, emergency tents, to public kitchens will soon arrive in Bawean," he said.
