The Case Of Santri Dianiaya Becomes A Spotlight, Jambi Governor Wants Every Ponpes To Have A Concelling
JAMBI - The case of mistreatment of students with the initials AH (13) to death is a lesson for many parties. In order to prevent similar cases from happening, the Governor of Jami, Al Haris urged counseling in every boarding school.
"I did not expect such criminal incidents to occur within the scope of Islamic boarding schools, so in the future every Islamic boarding school or boarding school must have a counseling teacher (BK), to anticipate such incidents again," said Al Haris, quoted by Antara, Saturday, March 23.
For this santri case, it has now been handled by the police and there are already perpetrators or suspects.
"We are concerned that there are students who have the heart to kill their own friends and this is what we must immediately change again the santri education system at this Islamic boarding school in Jambi," said Al Haris again.
In a police statement, Airul Harahap (13) died at the hands of his two seniors on the third floor of the Raudhatul Mujawaidin Islamic Boarding School dormitory on November 14, 2023. Airul was beaten to death by being beaten with wood to death.
After being held in a case and reconstructed by the police, it was finally discovered that Ainul's death was due to a debt problem of Rp. 10,000 between the perpetrator and the victim. The two perpetrators had engineered Ainul's death as if he had been electrocuted until it was finally exposed because he was beaten.
Regarding this, Al Haris did not expect the death of the students to be systematically regulated like that. The governor will even coordinate with the Ministry of Religion so that Islamic Boarding Schools throughout Jambi Province must have a BK teacher or psychologist to regulate the behavior of students so as not to exceed the limits.
"This is what we have to change again, every Ponpes has a BK teacher or psychologist. I think this is for all Islamic boarding schools and if there are BK teachers in Islamic boarding schools, there must be a special teacher for psychology. This is what I will ask as soon as possible," said Al Haris.
The governor also assessed that BK teachers or psychologists are important at Ponpes because apart from learning about morals and religion, there are also teachers about the child's mental and mental health, which aims to make children's behavior read. The children take education there far from their parents and families.
"This can be seen in the behavior of children when their mentality changes, then their nature changes, so it is important that there are BK teachers or psychologists and this is what we must bring to all Islamic Boarding Schools and this is immediately followed up," said Jambi Governor Al Haris.
As Governor of Jambi, Al Haris will immediately speak with the Regional Office of the Jambi Ministry of Religion to discuss additional psychiatric education so that there will be no more incidents of the death of students at the Jambi Islamic Boarding School.
"We will discuss this as soon as possible regarding BK teachers or psychologists," said Al Haris.
