Performance Dominant Devin Booker Brings Phoenix Suns To Playoff Position

JAKARTA - The high determination was shown by the Phoenix Suns when they beat San Antonio Spurs 131-106 at the San Antonio Center Frost, Texas, Sunday, March 24. Devin Booker's dominant appearance was in the spotlight.

This victory brought the Suns to sixth position in the western region standings, a temporary playoff position. Apart from Booker, Kevin Durant's role was also an important aspect of the match.

Bookers and Durant scored 57 points in total. Bookers scored 32 points before missing in the fourth quarter, and Durant added 25 points for the Suns who were never left behind by Spurs with the highest points margin up to 32 points.

"He was the first-class Devin Booker of this match," said Phoenix Suns coach Frank Vogel as quoted by Antara, launching the NBA's official website.

"He scored, he passed. In full control of the game. Very strong performance from the Book," he said again.

Bradley Beal contributed 13 points and 12 assists which are the highest figures this season.

From Spurs, their rookie star Victor Wembanyama contributed 13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and one block in 21 minutes playing as San Antonio Spurs lost their third consecutive defeat, or eighth defeat in the last 10 games. Keldon Johnson accounted for 14 points.

Phoenix made an accuracy of up to 59.6 percent in their eighth straight win at San Antonio.

"I think we had more and physical contact in the second half, but you won't be able to stop Book and KD doing what they want to do and Bradley is now in shape," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich praised.

They are quite tough trios. Our players do everything they can," he said again.

The Suns, who started the match, are ranked seventh in the Western Region standings, or are still in the play-in position, have now moved to sixth place, which is the team's minimum ranking to be able to compete directly in the play-offs.

Suns recorded 42 wins and 29 losses (42-29) half the game adrift of Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks in seventh and eighth place which both packed 41-29.

Furthermore, the Suns and Spurs will compete again on Tuesday (26/3) in the same place.
