PKS Says Money Politics Is Still Investigating In The 2024 Election
JAKARTA - President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Ahmad Syaikhu admitted that he respects the results of the 2024 General Election. However, Syaikhu views that the implementation of this democratic contestation has been tarnished by alleged violations.
"We feel the need to provide notes on the election process that has just taken place. This process, unfortunately, is full of drama and tensions that damage the joints of democracy," Syaikhu said in his statement, quoted on Sunday, March 24.
Syaikhu said that the practice of money politics or political money was still mostly carried out before voting day. However, Syaikhu did not mention which party was still doing it.
"We cannot ignore the fact that money politics, political practices involving money and wealth have become a common sense of directing choices," he said.
Syaikhu also highlighted the many ethical violations by the KPU and Bawaslu, as election organizers, thus receiving harsh sanctions from the Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP).
Furthermore, PKS admitted to respecting the open plenary meeting of the 2024 General Election Results organized by the KPU. However, PKS did not want to congratulate the elected Presidents of 2024 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
PKS is still waiting for the ongoing process until the results of the presidential election dispute trial at the Constitutional Court (MK).
"Yes, the stages must be that way. After the election, calculation, determination. But there is still room for those who are dissatisfied and have evidence in the Constitutional Court. Yes, we congratulate you in the KPU calculation stage while there is still room for the Constitutional Court," said PKS politician Jazuli Juwaini some time ago.
Jazuli said that PKS would accept the results of the 2024 presidential election if allegations of fraud related to voting were allegedly not proven in the Constitutional Court. PKS, he said, would be willing to accept the defeat of Paslon number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar which was promoted by the Change Coalition.
"If there is no strong argument and evidence, we must (accept). In this election there must be a winner, there must be a defeat. So as people who adhere to democratic understanding, they must accept victory, they must accept defeat," said Jazuli.
