BRI Commits To Opening Access To Funding To Ultra Micro Business Actors
JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) is committed to continuing to empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by actively providing funding opportunities, especially for ultra micro enterprises (UMi).
This is considering that ultra-micro business actors are relatively unaffordable in access to formal finance. According to the company, this commitment is part of efforts to strengthen economic and social resilience.
"BRI has carried out several concrete actions, including the formation of Ultra Micro Holding (UMi), BRI together with Pegadaian and PNM have provided integrated financial services and ensured ultra micro customers can advance to class in a whole ecosystem with the concept of empowerment, integration, and upgrade," said BRI President Director Sunarso quoting Antara.
He also noted that until now Holding UMi has reached 44 million MSME loan customers and 173 million savings/content customers.
One of the furniture business actors in Jakarta, Siti Samsiah, admitted that she was greatly helped by accessing banking services through "KeCe" (Speed Credit) loan products.
According to him, these products can help him in developing his business and increasing capital to buy additional raw materials.
"Kece's loan really helps me to develop my business, can increase capital to buy additional raw materials. I am very grateful," said Siti, who continued the business inherited from her late parents for the last 20 years.
Siti said that initially she received a loan of Rp. 8 million. The nominal is used to buy capital in the form of wood, which then helps with the sustainability of her business. In one month, Siti can get a turnover of around Rp. 10 million.

He considered that the "KeCe" loan distribution process was very fast with uncomplicated requirements. BRI's UMi financing products are formal banking services aimed at ultra micro business actors.
To apply for credit, the company said that customers can directly come to BRI's office. Customers can also apply for credit online through BRISPOT Micro and SenyuM Mobile or through Agent BRILink.
The requirements to apply for BRI ultra-micro loans include having a business of at least one year, not being financed by financial/operative institutions, and having a business license or business statement from government agencies and a certificate of business from distributors.
