Police Coordinate With Indonesian Embassy Return 2 TIP Suspects For Internship Mode In Germany
JAKARTA - Two of the five suspects in the criminal case of trafficking in persons or TIP in the internship program or ferryjob are still in Germany. Bareskrim Polri seeks to bring them back to Indonesia.
Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, said the efforts to repatriate the two suspects by coordinating with the Indonesian Embassy and the Police attach in Germany.
"Then the coordination is that we have a police attach at the Indonesian Embassy in Germany and of course this is proactively information from the Indonesian Embassy in Germany, of course this is still being investigated," Trunoyudo told reporters, Friday, March 22.
In addition, investigators also coordinated with the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) in investigating the case.
Coordination is carried out to facilitate the investigation process. It is known, there are 33 universities that run the internship program.
"Regarding the agency so far, the information we have received is that there is cooperation between PT SHB earlier, of course this is still a continuous process for the perpetrators and witnesses," said Trunoyudo.
In this case, five people have been named as suspects. They have the initials ER alias EW; A alias AE, SS, AJ and MJ.

The suspects were charged with Article 4 of Law (UU) Number 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of TIP, with a maximum threat of 15 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 600 million. Then Article 81 of Law No. 17 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers. With a maximum imprisonment of 10 years and a maximum fine of Rp. 15 billion.
The TIP case in the internship program mode was uncovered after four students who were victims came to the Indonesian Embassy in Germany. They told what was experienced.
The Indonesian Embassy also traced the internship program in question. It turns out that there are 33 universities in Indonesia that also run the program. It was recorded that around 1,407 students had departed.
The internship program is known to be completed by PT CVGEN and PT SHB. The two companies promised students an internship in Germany.
However, they were asked to pay Rp150 thousand and 150 euros. The reason is the cost of making a letter of acceptance (LOA) to PT SHB.
Not only that, they were also asked to pay another 200 Euros to PT SHB. Its designation is the creation of an approval of the German authorities or working permit.
In fact, students who want to take part in the internship program are also charged Rp. 30-50 million as bailouts.
"However, the student was employed non-procedurally so that the student was explored," said Trunoyudo.
