Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e 4 Matic: Newest Plug-in Hybrid Luxury SUV For US Market

JAKARTA - Mercedes-Benz is again expanding its electric car lineup in the United States (US) market by introducing the GLC 350e 4 Matic equipped with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system.

Reporting from Carscoops, Friday, March 22, the manufacturer offers this car in three different trim variants, starting with an entry-level equipped with an LED light, a rain sensor for wiper settings, and a suspension of self-leveling.

Other features include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 11.9-inch infotainment display, and wireless charging for smartphones. Buyers will also get lighting with a choice of 64 different colors as well as a front seat that can be set in 16 directions with heating.

Furthermore, there is a trim Exclusive variant that offers illuminated thresholds, more sophisticated surrounding lighting, a Burmester premium audio system, and a Guard 360 security system.

Meanwhile, manufacturers also provide the trim Pinnacle variant as the highest variant with additional head-up display features, digital lights, and video streaming capabilities.

With a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system, the GLC 350e 4 Matic, which is supported by a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine paired with a 24.8 kWh battery package and an electric motor, is capable of providing 313 dk of power and 550 Nm of torque.

Thus, this SUV can achieve acceleration from 0 to 96 km/h within 6.6 seconds with a maximum speed of 217 km/hour.

This car also has the ability to drive at full electric power thanks to a 24.8 kWh battery that can reach a distance of 130 km. This battery is also compatible with a DC 60 kW fast charging that allows full charging within 30 minutes.

Although Mercedes-Benz have not disclosed its official price, they promised that this luxury SUV will be available in the US market in the second half of 2024.
