Participating In Enlivening The Indonesian Hybrid Car Market, MG Waits For Hybrid Vehicle Incentives From The Government
JAKARTA - The trend of electrification vehicles is growing rapidly considering that automotive industry manufacturers and consumers are starting to realize the need for environmentally friendly cars.
But before facing complete electrification, hybrid vehicles are an important step that can bridge towards carbon neutrality.
Of the 1,005,802 units of four-wheeled vehicles that have been sold in Indonesia last year, 54,656 of them are hybrid cars. This raises the question of whether this type of vehicle needs incentives from the government like the previous EV.
MG Motor Indonesia Marketing & PR Director Arief Syarifudin said his party would welcome this regulation very well, especially since the company has launched its first hybrid model in the country MG VS HEV.
"If this is indeed given to a hybrid vehicle, we would be happy to welcome it," said Arief in response to media questions in Jakarta, Thursday, March 21.
Arief also added that his party is waiting for news regarding the stipulation of this regulation because hybrid is one way for automotive manufacturers to promote environmentally friendly vehicles in Indonesia.
"For us, whatever the boost for regulation is set by the government, the one who benefits is consumers," added Arief.
Recently, MG officially launched VS HEV in enlivening the country's hybrid vehicle market. The SUV is priced at IDR 389 million On The Road Jakarta and is currently assembled from Thailand.
Previously, this British manufacturer had also presented pure electric vehicles (EVs) consisting of MG4 EVs and ZS EVs that had been assembled locally (CKDs).
The MG4 EV model now has a price of IDR 423 million for the first 3,000 consumers before returning to a normal price of IDR 433 million. Then, ZS EV is priced at IDR 453 million. All prices include On The Road Jakarta.
