With Sarongs, 4 Prisoners In South Kalimantan Escape From Prison, Some Are Lame After Jumping
BANJARMASIN - Four prisoners (inmates) Class IIB Kandangan Detention Center, Hulu Sungai Selatan District (HSS), South Kalimantan escaped. The four inmates are suspected of climbing the back wall of the detention center.
Head of the Kandangan Prison, Jeremia Leonta, confirmed the incident of the prisoners running away. Currently the joint apparatus is in pursuit to recapture the escaped prisoners.
"We have collaborated with the police to recapture the four escaped prisoners," he said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 2.
Meanwhile, a resident of Kandangan, Ipul said the four inmates were seen by residents jumping from the walls of the detention center and running through the Kandangan Town Terminal which is located right behind the detention center building.
"Seen from a distance, some of the prisoners who fled were limping. After jumping from the back fence of the Class II B Kandangan Prison, some were in pain but kept running away," said Ipul.
Another resident, Shinta said, from her shop close to the location where the prisoners escaped, she had heard a loud voice coming from the roof.
According to him, a loud sound like a tree hit the roof as if a tree had fallen, while the weather was hot. Meanwhile, other residents suspected that there was a fight.
The escape of four prisoners escaped during the day. This is reinforced by the discovery of evidence in the form of a blanket to stand on and a rope from a wrapped sarong that dangles downwards.
