Gajah Case Without Dead Left Gading Poisoned No Suspect, Riau Police Still Continues To Investigate
Riau Police are still investigating the death of a Sumatran elephant, aka Elephant maximus sumatranus, assisted by Tesso Nilo National Park (TNTN) in Riau Province.
"Until now, it is still in the process of being investigated," said Head of Sub-Directorate IV Tipidter of the Riau Police Ditreskrimsus Kompol Nasrudin when confirmed in Pekanbaru, Tuesday, March 19, confiscated by Antara.
The poor male elephant named Rahman was first discovered by the Mahout (an elephant handler) lying limp and the left ivory has been cut and disappeared, on Wednesday, January 10.
It is strongly suspected that the elephant was poisoned before the left ivory was finally cut.
So far, said Nasrudin, 12 people have been questioned regarding this case. In addition, it was also known that during the investigation process the police had also dispatched sniffer dogs to the scene of the incident (TKP).
Head of Tipidter Ditreskrimsus Polda Riau Iptu Joko Sutrisno said sniffer dogs were used for the method of searching for evidence at the crime scene and its surroundings.
"We are still deepening our intensive investigation and scientific crime investigation. Please pray for it," said Joko.

Spokesperson for the For Gajah Community Rahman Fitriani Dwi Kurniasari said the public needed to know the latest developments regarding the development of the case of the death of the Rahman elephant.
According to Fitriani, from the information that has been extracted by the manager of Tesso Nilo National Park, all evidence and testimonies related to the death of the elephant have been sent to the Riau Police Ditreskrimsus, so they are only waiting for the results.
