Purwakarta Experienced 116 Disasters In 3 Months, 18 BPBD Patrol Members Every Day Anticipate Extreme Rain
PURWAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Purwakarta Regency asked all members to be fully alert 24 hours to face potential natural disasters following high rainfall accompanied by strong winds over the past few weeks in their area.
"In the first quarter of 2024, the rainfall is still very high. We must be fully alert so that we can anticipate potential disasters. This is also part of the instructions of the Acting Regent of Purwakarta which must be carried out," said Regional Secretary (Sekda) of the Purwakarta Regency Government, Norman Nugraha, in Purwakarta, Tuesday, March 19, confiscated by Antara.
Norman said, to anticipate various natural disasters, the Purwakarta Regency Government also continues to coordinate with the relevant authorities.
"We continue to coordinate with the TNI-Polri to ensure that all disaster anticipation measures can take place quickly and precisely," he said.

Purwakarta BPBD records, in the first three months of 2024 or since early January-March, there have been 116 natural disasters due to high rainfall intensity. The disaster was spread across 15 sub-districts around Purwakarta.
Head of BPBD Purwakarta Heryadi Erlan said his party had prepared anticipatory steps to minimize the bad effects of the high intensity of rain, including the potential for potential natural disasters.
According to him, every day there are 18 Purwakarta BPBD field officers who carry out monitoring tasks to various disaster-prone areas.
"We continue to closely monitor disaster-prone areas throughout Purwakarta. We are deploying field officers to carry out close monitoring to anticipate potential natural disasters," said Erlan.
