Review Film Friendship Like A Cocoon, Message Of Strong Friendship Between The Dimensions Of The Story

JAKARTA - The film Friendship Like Kempompong by Max Pictures Production House and Frame Ritz can be enjoyed on Netflix since 26 February. This film is a spin off from the soap opera Kepompong which aired 13 years ago.

However, this film displays a different color from soap operas and with a series of selected teenage actors and actresses, including Bio One and Baby Tsabina and Yasamin Napper.

The Cocoon-Like Friendship film will focus more on the issue of bullying among adolescents. The case, which has been the concern of many parties for a long time, is packaged in the problem of teenagers in school.

The story begins with Ben who has to move to junior high school with his cousin Isabel. Isabel often bullies him as a cute and cute mom, even though Ben has lost his mother's figure. Ben's resentment was then brought to school to the Cocoon Gang chaired by Isabel.

Ben's appearance with thick glasses made him immediately into the group that was often bullied at school. Isabel tries to keep defending him but Ben just gets the wrong idea.

Their relationship becomes more complicated when Paula appears, who grows the seeds of love in Ben's heart. Paula has a crush on Ben, but Ben doesn't dare to be bullied by a gang that has a crush on Paula. Plus Paula is Isabel's mortal enemy.

This is where all stories are built by Alim Sudiyo in an orderly and coherent manner so that they are easy to understand. Together with director Sentot Sahid, the message in this film's story can be conveyed well. That the school environment is not as comfortable as most parents think. Often times, we just can't be ourselves when we are in a competitive environment called school.

School is the second home where children spend the most time. he illustrates that building a friendship is not easy. Among the many differences, one has to suppress ego and respect each other so that the friendship remains intact.

The Contradiction of Time and Space

The presence of Lulu Tobing as Isabel's mother provides a clear line in which direction the film's story will take. The family function is played nicely by him. This includes emphasizing that online bullying on social media is on the rise.

Unfortunately, the message conveyed verbally and firmly is not adjusted in the film's story. There are doubts about the dimension of time and the story of this film. Visually, all appearances, social styles, to dating styles are very up-to-date. However, the bullying that is displayed is still an old pattern of the 90s era where physical violence dominates.

Film is a marker of the times, the story that is developed must be adjusted to the time setting and the place where the story begins. This film has a contradiction between the appearance and the social style that is exposed to the bullying pattern that still uses violence.

Why is this important to note? Because this film is aimed at adolescents 13 years and over, who in fact are currently more 'tormented' mentally when there is digital bullying. The audience will easily relate to the story if only the bully pattern selection is more updated.

However, for me, who has passed the age of 30 and over, this film has become a kind of reunion for the popular Kepompong song and soap opera in 2008. The work is complete for story building, the present-day characters are consistently displayed, the appearance is neat, as well as the accompanying songs. pay attention in detail so that you don't need to think much, we will once again remember bullying is not a good deed.
