New Cases Of COVID-19 In DKI 578 Than Usually More Than A Thousand, Health Office Talks About Laboratory Constraints

JAKARTA - The increase in new COVID-19 cases in DKI Jakarta shows a relatively low number, namely 578 cases. In fact, DKI conducted PCR tests of 12,267 specimens.

However, today only 8,267 people have been tested for PCR, resulting in 578 positive cases and 7,689 negative cases. In fact, usually the increase in COVID-19 cases in Jakarta is above 1,000 cases in one day.

The Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division at the DKI Health Office explained that the lack of new case data that was displayed was due to technical constraints on the connection to the national laboratory system.

"Some of today's positive data has been delayed due to technical problems with the connection to the National Laboratory system and will be entered into data on March 3, 2021," Dwi said in his statement, Tuesday, March 2.

As of today, there are an increase of 2,017 cases recovered and 40 cases died. Then, there are still 8,277 active cases or people who are still being treated and undergoing isolation.

Meanwhile, the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in DKI is 342,371 people. Of the total number of cases, 328,526 people were declared cured with a 96 percent cure rate.

Then, there were a total of 5,568 COVID-19 cases that died with a death rate of 1.6 percent, while Indonesia's death rate was 2.7 percent.

"The positivity rate or the percentage of positive cases in the past week in Jakarta was 12.7 percent. WHO also sets the standard for the percentage of positive cases of no more than 5 percent," Dwi explained.

In the development of cases on a national scale, there were 5,712 new positive cases from the examination of 33,174 specimens. The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1,347,026 people and active cases were 149,645.

Today, there are 8,948 cases recovered nationally, so that a total of 1,160,863 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 193 people and a total of 36,518 people.
