The National Police Will Deploy 4,992 Personnel To Announce The Results Of The 2024 Presidential Election At The KPU
The General Elections Commission (KPU) will announce the results of the 2024 Presidential Election recapitulation on March 20. In terms of security, the National Police deployed 4,992 joint personnel.
"We do not technically convey the points, but globally, of course there are 4,992 personnel," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, to reporters, Monday, March 18.
The deployment of thousands of personnel was carried out to oversee the demonstrations that will be held by a number of mass groups ahead of the announcement of the recapitulation results. In addition, Trunoyudo said the KPU asked for a security thickening.
"Of course there is (the request for security thickening), related to security and this is an obligation for us by the National Police to carry out security, including in the 2024 Brata Great Operation," said Trunoyudo.
The National Police have also prepared three security schemes to deal with demonstrations ahead of the determination of the results of the 2024 presidential election vote count.
It is known that there are four locations that will become points of demonstration, namely, the General Election Commission (KPU), the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), the Constitutional Court (MK), and the DPR.
"In the meeting we have built three simulations (security schemes)," said the Head of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Unit, Komjen Fadil Imran.
"Of course, if the situation is sloping normally, we will still apply normal situations. But if there is an increase in escalation, it is certainly preemptive and preventive," he explained.
