British Legendary Rocker Steve Harley Dies At The Age Of 73

JAKARTA - Sad news has again plagued the world's rock music scene. Cockney Rebel vocalist Steve Harley was announced dead at the age of 73.

The news was shared by the family through the rocker's official account on March 17. With a black background, they said the legend had passed away.

"It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Steve, the figure of our husband, father and grandfather, has died peacefully at home, with his family accompanying him," the announcement said.

The cause of death for the Make Me Smile singer was not disclosed to the public. However, from the musician's upload late last year, he is known to be battling cancer.

Due to the disease, at that time he stated that he would not undergo any tours in 2024. Apparently it was the last moments that luckily he passed with his loved ones.

The family hopes to be given room for temporary mourning. "We understand that Steve will be missed, family and fans around the world, so please give us room to mourn," wrote the family.

Steve Harley has been struggling since an early age. The London-born musician had a tough childhood due to polio. But he found a passion for music that made him stronger.
