Searching 2 Locations Regarding Governor Nurdin Abdullah's Bribery, The Corruption Eradication Commission Finds Money And Documents
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has conducted searches in 2 different places regarding the infrastructure bribery case that ensnared the inactive South Sulawesi Governor, Nurdin Abdullah.
As a result, investigators secured documents and cash from a search carried out at the Office of the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUTR) of South Sulawesi and Nurdin's private residence.
"From the two locations, evidence was found and secured including various documents related to this case as well as the amount of cash", said KPK spokesperson for prosecution Ali Fikri in a written statement, Tuesday, February 2.
In addition to conducting searches at the 2 locations, the KPK also carried out the same activity on Monday, March 1. There were 2 locations that were searched, namely the official residence of Nurdin Abdullah as the Governor of South Sulawesi and the official residence of the PUTR Office Secretary.
"From the two locations, evidence was found and secured including various documents related to this case and some cash", said Ali.
The KPK investigating team will still recalculate the amount of cash.
"Furthermore, the documents and cash will be validated and analyzed further and immediately confiscated as evidence in this case", he explained.
As previously reported, Nurdin Abdullah was named a suspect in the case of alleged bribery and gratification related to the procurement of goods and services, licensing, and infrastructure development in the South Sulawesi Provincial Government for the 2020-2021 Budget.
Nurdin was named a suspect with the Secretary of the PUPR Office of South Sulawesi Province, Edy Rahmat. Meanwhile, the Director of PT Agung Perdana Bulukumba (APB) Agung Sucipto was named a suspect in giving bribes.
In this case, Nurdin as the Governor of South Sulawesi is suspected of accepting bribes and gratuities with a total value of IDR 5.4 billion related to projects within the South Sulawesi Provincial Government.
In addition, Nurdin is suspected of receiving a bribe of IDR 2 billion from Agung through Edy. The bribe was given so that Agung could return to work on the project in South Sulawesi for the 2021 budget.
