Polri Still Helping KPK To Find Fugitive Harun Masiku

JAKARTA - The hunt for fugitive Harun Masiku has yet to find a bright spot. The National Police emphasized that they would help find the whereabouts of the KPK fugitive.

"Surely everyone will be assisted, the National Police will assist law enforcement activities in Indonesia," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, to reporters, Tuesday, March 2.

Rusdi emphasized that the National Police will do everything in their power to assist the KPK. Until now, the search continues.

"It must be assisted by the Police and keep going," he said.

For information, former PDI Perjuangan candidate Harun Masiku who became a bribe for Deputy Commissioner of the General Election Commission (KPU) Wahyu Setiawan regarding the interim replacement (PAW) of DPR members, is still at large since early 2020.

This case originated from a hand-catching operation (OTT) that took place on January 8. During the silent operation, a number of people were arrested including the recipient of bribes, namely Wahyu Setiawan and his confidant who is a member of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Agustiani Tio Fridelina.

Meanwhile, Harun as the bribe giver was reported to have gone abroad since before the OTT was held or on January 6 he had already gone to Singapore.

Later, there was confusion that said Harun had returned to Indonesia on January 7 and was confirmed by the Directorate General of Immigration. The system error was the reason why he was not detected as having returned to his homeland.

Since then, Wahyu's bribe has disappeared as if he was swallowed up by the earth and has made the KPK in the spotlight because until now they have not been able to arrest him.
