Safety Operation 2024, Police Record 60,047 Drivers Violating Traffic Rules

JAKARTA - The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police recorded that there were 60,047 violations during the 2024 Safety Operation throughout Indonesia. Not wearing helmets is still the most violations.

"Operation Keselamatan 2024 ini sudah memasuki pada hari ke-11 pelaksanaannya yaitu per Jumat 15 Maret 2024. Jumlah penindakan pelanggaran lalu lintas oleh Korlantas Polri sebanyak 60.047," ujar Karo Penmas Divisi Humas Polri Brigjen Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko kepada wartawan, Sabtu, 16 Maret.

Of the tens of thousands of violations, most of them were non-ETLE. This means that officers immediately ticket or reprimand violators.

"There were 53,656 non-ETLE actions, then 13,373 violators using ETLE," he said.

Then, Trunoyudo said that based on the female Korlantas Polri, there were several types of violations that were often committed by motorists.

For motorcyclists, most of them do not use SNI helmets. Meanwhile, many car drivers do not use seat belts.

"In two-wheeled vehicles, namely because they do not use helmets that match SNI, and then also as many as 22,281 violators and four-wheeled vehicles, namely 7,077 non-safety belts," said Trunoyudo.

Meanwhile, the Jaya 2024 Safety Operation was held for 14 days, starting from March 4 to 17, 2024.

In these activities, there are 11 types of violations that will be dealt with in the operation.

First, a violation in the form of driving while using a cellphone. Then, underage riders ride more than one person, motorists do not wear SNI helmets and car drivers do not wear safety belts or safety belts.

Then, violations in the form of going against the current, exceeding the speed limit, containing more than vehicle capacity, Brong exhaust motorbikes, using strobos in inappropriate vehicles, and the use of special or confidential number plates.
