AHY's Polemic Response To Alleged IKN Authority Ultimatum Residents Of Humiliation About The Demolition Of Houses
JAKARTA - Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) will coordinate with the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) regarding the spatial system polemic of the IKN region between OIKN and the people in Pemaluran, East Kalimantan.
"I will study it further first and of course coordinate with OIKN, so that we can conclude, including recommending the best solution," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 14.
He said that he and President Joko Widodo always emphasized that IKN development must be carried out properly. If development progress goes well and is successful, it will contribute directly or indirectly to the people in development sites and their surroundings, even throughout Indonesia.
"Economic and welfare aspects are the strength of the spirit of IKN development itself," he emphasized.
He admitted that he also often received directions so that development should not cause casualties in society, especially to be treated unfairly.
"Indeed, the most ideal thing is that we return to the applicable rules and laws, but it can't always be like that. We must understand the history, then also the background and various other factors," said AHY.
According to him, there must be a solution that benefits both parties, especially the community, for example through relocation schemes and compensation for losses, social impacts, and others.
Previously, the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) stated that it would continue to socialize and discuss intensely with the public regarding orderly licensing and spatial planning in the archipelago, East Kalimantan.
"There are two main issues, namely related to licensing and also how to discipline spatial planning. Regarding licensing from last year we have carried out socialization both at the sub-district level by inviting all village heads, village heads, traditional leaders, and community leaders such as from Sepaku, Loa Janan, and Kutai Kartanegara," said Deputy for OIKN Development Control Thomas Umbu Pati Tena Bolodadi.
OIKN itself in conducting socialization regarding orderly licensing and spatial discipline always prioritizes persuasive approaches through discussions with the community, local governments, and other stakeholders.
"Next week I will start discussing again with the community, we will look for the best possible solutions from the government side that do not harm the community," said Thomas.
Recently, news emerged that IKN's authority had issued an ultimatum to residents about the demolition of a house that was said to have violated the rules. This news was then denied by OIKN.
