Discussing The DKJ Bill, Gerindra Legislators Suggest Sukabumi Enter The Agglomeration Area

JAKARTA - Member of the Legislative Council of the House of Representatives from the Gerindra faction, Heri Gunawan, proposed that the Sukabumi area enter the Agglomeration area in a meeting of the Working Committee for the Draft Law on the Special Region of Jakarta (DKJ Bill Working Committee) between the DPR and the government.

Heri assessed that Sukabumi was one of the buffers for the economic area because it was a water supplier consumed by the people of Jakarta.

"Earlier it was conveyed in DIM 506 related to DIM 500, the master plan as referred to in paragraph 1 contains programs and activities under the authority of the central, regional, provincial and district/city governments in the agglomeration area which is a priority to ensure synchronization of the implementation of public development and services in the agglomeration area," said Heri at the DPR building, Thursday, March 14.

"It's at 500 to 511, it's listed there, programs and activities in question, at least including transportation, waste management, drinking water management. We all know, the source of drinking water. In Jakarta this was sent from Sukabumi, mineral water from there. So I think maybe it can also be entered there, including the agglomeration area. If prepared, there is nothing wrong," he continued.

In the committee meeting that discussed the provisions of the agglomeration area around Jakarta, Heri thought there would be nothing wrong if Sukabumi entered the agglomeration area. This proposal is also in anticipation of changes in the coverage of agglomeration areas around Jakarta.

"So I think maybe it can go in there, including the agglomeration area, if this is prepared, there is nothing wrong with it. Instead of happening later, wanting to change the hassle again, it is better to expand the coverage. It's better," said Heri.

Responding to Heri's suggestion, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Suhajar Diantoro, explained that the government is still reviewing the provisions of the areas that will enter the agglomeration area. Regulations for areas that enter the agglomeration area, he said, will later be regulated in government regulations (PP).

"This regulation will be regulated in government regulations. So it means that we include Cianjur, for example, because of the connection at the peak of running water, we will check later. From the distance side, it's actually not too far away. We already have data. But that's in government regulations, sir, derivative regulations," explained Suhajar.
