Russia Condemns Exclusion Of 2 Diplomats From Austria

JAKARTA - Russia's Foreign Ministry strongly condemns the expulsion of two of its diplomats from Austria and says the consequences of the expulsion will be borne by Austria.

The Austria Foreign Ministry earlier this week told two Russian diplomats it would be expelled from the country for taking actions that were contrary to its diplomatic status.

The Austria government bluntly stated that the two diplomats of the Russian Embassy in Austria were "non-graper persona", the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement quoted by ANTARA from Sputnik, Thursday, March 14.

The statement also said Russia strongly condemns Austria's unfriendly move and the responsibility for the consequences is entirely in the hands of the Australian government.

"Further responses will be taken at the right time," the statement read.
