KAI Commuter Collaborates With Japanese Company To Supply KRL Parts, Value IDR 734 Billion

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia or KAI Commuter collaborated to procure 2nd term KRL spare parts with JRTM Japan. The total investment value of this cooperation is IDR 734 billion.

This collaboration between KAI Commuter and JRTM Japan was officially carried out after the signing of the cooperation agreement (MoU) which was carried out today, Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

KAI Commuter President Director Asdo Artriviyanto said this mutually beneficial cooperation will continue in order to support the smooth running of railway operations in the future, especially in the Greater Jakarta area.

"In the last five years, PT KCI has continued to collaborate with the Japanese in procuring spare parts, increasing employee competence and other matters to support KRL in Indonesia to operate properly," said Asdo in an official statement, Wednesday, March 13.

Asdo said the cooperation contract with the multi-year period or Long Term Purchase Agreement (LTPA) for the period 2024 to 2027 has a total investment value of IDR 734 billion.

"With the total investment, the value of this LTPA cooperation is to ensure that the availability of spare parts and maintenance of KRL facilities goes well for the operational needs of KAI Commuter services for the next three years," said Asdo.

Asdo said that in addition to signing the LTPA cooperation contract related to the procurement of KRL spare parts, KAI Commuter also signed an MoU with JRTM Japan, including an extension of technical life for the JR 205 series with the rejuvenation program.

Then, continued Asdo, promoting and cooperating in the care and management of the provision of spare parts services. Then, training and transfer knowledge to support and prepare the implementation of facilities rejuvenation.

"Exchange of experts. Then, the provision of spare parts and inventory management. Then, other related fields," he explained.

Prior to the signing agenda, KAI Commuter also visited the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) Japan accompanied by the Indonesian Embassy Athub to establish good relations and cooperation in developing KAI Commuter services in the future.

In addition, continued Asdo, KAI Commuter also visited the Indonesian Embassy in Japan to report this form of cooperation.
