AHY Discusses Democratic Position In Cabinet After KPU Declares Prabowo-Gibran Officially Wins

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) will discuss the position of Democrats in the composition of the 2024-2029 Advanced Indonesia Cabinet after Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming was officially declared President and Vice President elected.

"We want to wait first. We also know that March 20 is an important moment, an official and final announcement from the KPU regarding the election results. Then morally and ethically, we can talk further," said AHY after attending a meeting at the Jakarta Presidential Palace complex. reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 13.

March 20, 2024 is the schedule for the General Election Commission (KPU) to officially announce the vote acquisition from the 2024 presidential election. The current vote recapitulation process is still ongoing.

AHY said the Indonesia Maju Coalition party was scheduled to gather again after the official announcement process for the presidential election winners to discuss steps towards the process of inaugurating Prabowo-Gibran as President and Vice President 2024-2029.

"So of course the first step for the Forward Indonesia coalition will meet soon and we will discuss the steps towards October 20, 2024," he said.

During the meeting, said AHY, a good transition strategy will also be discussed, as well as preparing a quality and capable government according to the vision and mission of the candidate pair 2 during the campaign.

"So that today's programs, policies, and policies of President Joko Widodo, everything that is good, we can oversee and continue in the future," he said.

AHY said the Democrats did not want to rush into discussing the party's position in the upcoming coalition, because everything needed a measured assessment of the elected president.

"We know the President has prerogatives, we just want to convey what is fighting for together. Of course, in the end, it's not just a role, in the end, we will talk about what kind of portfolio, but let it belong to the next President because we respect the process," he added.
