2 TPS Has Not Yet Elected The Jayapura City DPRD, Continued Voting Waits For The Indonesian KPU

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Papua General Election Commission (KPU) Steveten said that until now there are two polling stations (TPS) in Heram District, Jayapura City, are still waiting for the Indonesian KPU's decision to hold a follow-up vote (PSL).

"There are two polling stations in Heram District, namely TPS 37 and TPS 39 that have not implemented PSL because they are still waiting for the Indonesian KPU's decision," said Chairman of the Papua KPU Steveplun, in Jayapura, Wednesday, March 13, as quoted by Antara.

He explained that the PSL recommendation was issued by the local Bawaslu because during the vote on February 14, the logistics of the Jayapura City DPRD candidate were exchanged, so voters could not choose the local city legislative candidate.

He said there were about 570 voters in 2 polling stations who had not yet elected candidates for members of the Jayapura City DPRD, so if the Indonesian KPU agreed to implement the PSL, his party would immediately implement it.

"Logistics are ready now, so if the Indonesian KPU agrees to implement PSL, the Jayapura City KPU will immediately hold it, so that voters can choose their representatives who will be sitting in the Jayapura City DPRD," said Steve.

When asked about the progress of the plenary meeting for the Papua General Election Commission (KPU) vote calculation, Stevebuln said that until now it had not been completed because there were still three districts and cities that had not finished plenary at the district and city levels.

Dai said that the three regencies and cities that have not finished implementing them at the regional level are Jayapura City and Regency and Yapen Islands Regency.

"Hopefully the three regencies and cities can immediately complete the calculation, so that the Papuan KPU can hold a plenary meeting until it is finished considering that the other six regencies have been carried out," Chairman of the Papua KPU Steve

The Papuan KPU work areas include nine regencies and cities, namely Jayapura City and Regency, Mamberamo Raya, Biak Numfor, Waropen, Yapen Islands, Sarmi, Keerom, and Supiori Regency.
