JAKARTA - Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) provides a lattice regarding other models that will soon be present in Malaysia, one of which is Golf Mk8.5 facelift.
This disclosure was made by the Managing Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM), Denyu Bostandzhiev. He stated that the company has big plans to celebrate its 50th anniversary of Golf, which means Golf Mk8.5 facelifts will launch soon.
Citing from the Paultan page, Wednesday, March 13, as part of the refresh, the revised and launched five-door hatchback in January features a slimmer headlights (with the new IQ.Light matrix LED option available), a larger grip, a new backlight with C-shaped graphics, and a slightly modified rear bumper.

Meanwhile, for the GTI or higher versions, get a more dashing front bumper, and GTI badges are present at the front door. However, more significant changes occur at the inside, where Volkswagen has made some adjustments based on customer complaints.
For example, a new infotainment system measuring 12.9 inches, air conditioning control, steering wheel, and also a new IDA voice control system with ChatGPT integration.
Under the engine hood, redesigned golf is available globally with a choice of four turbocharged gasoline engines, two turbodiesels, two 48-volt light hybrid gasoline engines, and two plug-in hybrid variants. In the GTI model, a 2.0 liter turbo engine experienced an increase in power of 20 PS to 261 hp, still paired with a seven-speed DSG double coupling transmission.
Given that this car will be assembled locally or CKD, it seems that it will not be difficult to add some adjustments. However, it is not yet known whether this model will be a special edition developed locally and specifically for the Malaysian market alone. This is certainly something worth waiting for.
