Ellyas Pical's Biopic Series Becomes The Hardest For Denny Sumargo

JAKARTA - Denny Sumargo plays Ellyas Pical in the biopic series produced by Falcon Pictures entitled Ellyas Pical. He said his role this time was the hardest during his time as an actor.

In this series, the man who is familiarly called Densu is required to have boxing skills. Even though he had been a professional basketball athlete, Densu underwent intensive training for three months.

"Because according to me, the figure I played was a big figure. I didn't want this figure to finally be checking when I played," said Denny Sumargo at Falcon Pictures, South Jakarta, Tuesday, March 12.

Not only boxing skills, Densu was also required to adjust Ellyas Pical's weight at that time. He had to undergo hormone injections to lose weight.

From 89 kilograms, I fell to 76 kilograms within one month. There I was injected until I fell. If I was injected with hormones, it would be to speed up my body loss, but it would be dizzy, until I vomited," he said.

In addition, Denny Sumargo must also present the Saparua dialect, Ellyas Pical's hometown located in Maluku.

Furthermore, the shooting process that Denny Sumargo went through was also quite difficult. He had to do a boxing fight scene with a boxer.

"I'm tired, my hand muscles are pulled until the cramps can't move. So, how many times do I take boxing, I have to be silent, massaged until the vein is loose again. Then I hit again," said Denny.

"And in this series, we use real athletes as their opponents. Even Donny Alamsyah, who plays here, also fainted against real athletes. So it's not that easy," he continued.

For information, the Ellyas Pical series premiered on Prime Video on March 21. Directed by Herwin Novianto, the series stars Denny Sumargo, Christine Hakim, Della Dartyan, (Alm) Yayu Unru, Donny Alamsyah, Darius Sinathrya, ani Alfandy and Parisa Sham.
