PTBA Prepares IDR 2.9 Trillion For Capital Expenditure, Here Are The Details!

JAKARTA - PT Bukit Asam Tbk. (PTBA) prepares capital expenditure (Capex) of IDR 2.9 trillion for 2024.

PTBA Finance Director Farida Thamrin said that his party had indeed prepared the capital expenditure budget for several company business development agendas.

Farida said that the Rp2.9 trillion budget was intended for one of them to be allocated for logistic unlocking.

"So it means that the PTBA reserves are mined a lot, later sales can be started using capacity rather than transportation," said Farida, quoted on Monday, March 11.

Furthermore, he said, capex is also used for operational infrastructure and is partially allocated for subsidiaries.

Previously, the President Director of PTBA, Arsal Ismail, said that his party was currently diversifying its business into the new and renewable energy sector.

The company has so far built PLTS at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in collaboration with PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero), which has been fully operational since October 2020. The PLTS has a maximum capacity of 241 kilowatt-peak (kWp) and is installed at the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) Building. In addition to Angkasa Pura II, PTBA is also working with Jasa Marga Group for the development of PLTS on toll roads. PLTS with a capacity of 400 kWp on the Bali-Mandara Toll Road has been completed and inaugurated on September 21, 2022.

PTBA has started the construction of a new coal handling facility to increase coal transportation capacity through the Tanjung Enim - Keramasan railway line. This is marked by the groundbreaking process which was carried out in Tanjung Enim on December 30, 2023.

The construction of these facilities is part of the collaboration between PTBA and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI in the development of coal transportation related to Tanjung Enim - Keramasan which has a capacity of 20 million tons per year. The facilities and infrastructure for rail transportation modes are prepared by PT KAI, while the dock facilities at Keramasan are built by PT Kereta Api Logistik (Kalog).
