Three Boys Trapped In River Overflowing In Southeast Sulawesi Kolaka Tourism, SAR Evacuates

The Kendari Basarnas evacuated three children trapped in the overflowing river in Kea-kea, Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra).

Head of Basarnas Kendari Muhammad Arafah said the three children were trapped across the river when the river at the tourist site overflowed.

"The three trapped people needed help to be evacuated from the flood," he said in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Sunday, March 10, as reported by Antara.

Arafah explained that the incident was reported to Kolaka Police personnel on Saturday, March 9 at 16.45 WITA and then the Kolaka SAR Post Rescue Team headed to the location to provide SAR assistance.

"The distance to that location is about 17 kilometers from the Kolaka SAR Post," he said.

Arafah said that upon arrival at the location, the Kolaka SAR Post Rescue Team received information that the three people had been successfully evacuated by the Joint SAR Team and taken to the Wahdah Islamiah Kolaka Islamic Boarding School.

"The Kolaka SAR Post Rescue Team then checked the information and confirmed the condition of the victims at the Wahdah Islamiah Kolaka Islamic Boarding School," he said.
