A Year Of Pandemic, Deputy Governor Riza Claims Handling Of COVID-19 In Jakarta Is Controlled Even Though The Figures Are Still High

JAKARTA - Today, Indonesia has been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic for even a year. At that time, the first case was found. Time goes by, the development of cases of corona virus transmission is increasing. DKI Jakarta is the province with the highest number of cases.

However, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria claimed that the transmission of COVID-19 in the capital was under control.

"A year of pandemic, thank God we can control it from the pandemic in DKI Jakarta, even though the figure is still quite high," said Riza on Monday, March 1 evening.

Riza said, the cure rate for COVID-19 is currently 95.3 percent. The death rate for COVID-19 cases is 1.6 percent.

Then, the use of COVID-19 isolation beds was 70 percent and the ICU room was used for 64 percent. Riza thinks that this indicator shows that the handling of COVID-19 is under control.

"Even though the positive cases are still quite high, today there are 2,098 (new cases), but this shows that Jakarta is able to control it quite well," he said.

In the future, DKI Pemprov will continue to increase the number of referral hospitals, health workers, health centers, and PCR swab examination laboratories.

In addition, DKI continues to collaborate with related ranks such as the TNI, Polri, and community organizations to monitor surveillance and take action related to health protocols.

"The contribution, the apparatus once again only contributes 20 percent 80 percent lies in the disciplinary compliance of the community. For this reason, we ask Jakarta residents to improve 3M's compliance discipline. That is the main key for us to be free from COVID-19," he concluded.
