Mayweather's Retirement Plans Reveal His Battle Against Nurmagomedov

JAKARTA - Floyd Mayweather and Khabib Nurmagomedov could fight in January after the manager of 'The Eagle' - nicknamed Nurmagomedov - revealed the details of the battle plan.

Boxing superstar Mayweather admitted earlier this week that he plans to retire for the third time next year. This sparked a lot of speculation about who would be the next opponent. Mayweather's current record in the ring is 50 wins to zero loss.

Mayweather and UFC president Dana White were previously said to be working together on something special and Nurmagomedov's manager Ali Abdelaziz finally revealed the details of the plan.

Abdelaziz via his Twitter account, Saturday, November 23, uploaded a promotional video of the battle schedule that had been made between 'The Eagle' and 'Money' - the nickname of Mayweather.

Alongside a poster of the Mayweather versus Nurmagomedov fight, Abdelaziz posted a video with the caption: "It was originally planned but [Dana White] 's father of combat sports made [Floyd Mayweather] hide it a little.

"Three of us know what's going on but to be honest I'm happy to see [Dana White] with [Floyd Mayweather] finally getting a good promoter to promote her fight."

It remains unconfirmed whether this plan will still work and MMA fans have mixed reactions to Abdelaziz's tweet.

One fan said, “Dude, I'm glad this didn't happen! Khabib is a champion, not a prize fighter !! We want khabib vs Tony !! That is all."

"Khabib needs the dollar (money). We know he will lose," another said.

"Yes, Dana White is what Floyd Mayweather needs," said another fan.

Others responded: "I'd better watch you fight my grandmother."

Mayweather previously defeated UFC star Conor McGregor in the ring in 2017. If his fight with Nurmagomedov occurs, it will be the boxer's debut in the Octagon.
