NasDem Politician Calls PDIP Good To Be An Opposition, Golkar Usually Plays Safe
JAKARTA - NasDem Party politician Irma Suryani said PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) was suitable for opposition but was lacking when he became ruler. He saw the track record of the party made by Megawati Soekarnoputri.
This was conveyed by Irma when she became a panelist for discussions on 'Consolidation for Democracy after the 2024 General Election: Opposition or Coalition?' at the Juwono Sudarsono Auditorium Fisip UI, Depok, Thursday, March 7. The event was attended by the 10th Vice President and 12th RI Jusuf Kalla and PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto.
"This PDIP is good to be the opposition, but when he wins he's not good. Because when he wins, he's as silent as a turtle," said Irma.
"When he (PDIP, ed) loses, then he becomes really a little wong, that's my opinion," he continued.
Even so, PDIP said it was more daring to take the option to become an opposition than the Golkar Party. He said, the party chaired by Airlangga Hartarto was more often playing safely and always joining the government.
"Have you ever been in the opposition? Never, keep it inside. You want it to be safe," he said.

Irma reminded that in the next election the public must choose a party based on their track record. Do not let a member of the council have a poor track record of entering parliament.
In addition, parties that are pragmatic in legalizing various ways to get votes must be the public's attention. "Don't choose candidates for council members from political oligarchs," he said.
"Don't endorse dirty entrepreneurs to enter parliament, don't endorse sexual abusers, drug addicts, corruptors. All enter," concluded Irma.
