When Nyepi, PLN Predicts Electricity Supply In Bali Will Decrease

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) predicts that the electricity supply in Bali will decrease during the implementation of Nyepi Day. Currently, the balance of power in the Bali subsystem is in a safe condition with a power capable of generating reaching 1.505 MW," he said, quoting Antara. Hamidi stated that there was a power reserve of 586 MW or reached 39 percent during Nyepi. He said the record highest peak load in Bali ever achieved was 1,107 MW and each year during Nyepi Day there was a decrease in the use of electricity by customers by 30 to 35 percent. In addition, regarding PLN services, if there is a disturbance will be handled a day after Nyepi except for urgent ones. If there is a disturbance, the officer on standby, will handle it if indeed the disturbance is urgent with customer mechanism reporting or coordinating with local pecalang, and later the officer who overcomes the disturbance will be escorted by pecalang,'' he said.

There are 46 posts and 218 personnel who are ready to be alerted 24 hours to ensure the safety of electricity supply during Nyepi. Meanwhile, Nyepi Day falls on Monday, March 11, 2024 is a holy celebration celebrated by Hindus every Saka New Year.
