Pixel 8a Leaks: Google's Series A At The Most Expensive Price

JAKARTA The series A of Pixel phones is famous for its affordable price, but not for the Pixel 8A. Reportedly, Google will increase the price of series A phones due to added specifications.

Pixel 3a is the first Pixel phone for the A series. The phone was launched in 2019 at a price of 399 US dollars (Rp 6.2 million), half of the price of ordinary Pixel devices. This price was still set when the Pixel 4a was launched.

The price of the Pixel series A began to increase when the Pixel 5a and 6a were launched, both of which were priced at 449 US dollars (Rp 7 million). The price increase still occurred when the Pixel 7a was launched. This device is priced at 499 US dollars (Rp 7.8 million).

Based on the WinFuture report, quoted from 9to5google, the company will again increase the price of series A launched by Pixel 8a. Reportedly, this phone will be priced at 549 US dollars (Rp 8.6 million), slightly different from the usual Pixel 8.

The Pixel 8a was launched in October last year. This device is only 150 US dollars different from the Pixel 8a, which is 699 US dollars or around Rp. 10.9 million. This is the largest increase in series A devices.

Google has not explained the reason behind this price increase. However, the price of this device is expected to increase because the Pixel 8a will be powered by the G3 Tensor. This device is also expected to bring several features based on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Other news states that the Pixel 8A will have two types of storage, namely 128GB and 256GB. This device will be launched with four colors, namely Obsidian, Porcelain, Bay, and Mint, similar to the colors in the Pixel 8 Pro.

It is not yet known when this device will be launched. However, reflecting on last year's Pixel 7a launch, Google may introduce Pixel 8a at an annual software developer conference event, namely Google I/O.
