Abstract And Selfish Life Depicted In RDLG's New Single
JAKARTA - RDLG released a new single titled Tante Lollipop since November 22 yesterday. As well as being a follow-up to the three previous singles, namely Hambar, Podcast Blues, and Sadar, Tante Lollipop also marked the birth of their first EP (mini album) entitled Judi.
Different from the previous songs which were more straightforward and simple, Tante Lollipop was present as an abstract and selfish song, at least that was said by Gethzamani Christian, RDLG drummer as a songwriter.
Tante Lollipop was inspired by Getza's discussion with someone far above her, ranging from social, cultural, economic, political issues, to animals, pollution and traffic jams in Jakarta. Combined with a Getza-style writing journey, all the topics in the discussion were sewn together into one complete song.
"This Tante Lolipop is like lying to a liar or protesting to the protests. I purposely use a name that seems 'blue material' because you know it yourself, lollipops and women when depicted in any work also often refer to sensual interpretations, even though they don't. Also, you will definitely understand. For me, it is very suitable to describe my condition and my surroundings at that time, "explained Gethzamani in a written statement received by VOI, Sunday, November 24.
This song was produced directly by RDLG consisting of Armando Mamangkey (vocalist), Irsyad Agni (guitarist), Kevin Patrick (bassist), and of course Gethzamani. Through Tante Lollipop, RDLG enriches the charm of the country's music industry and at the same time completes the ammunition for the POTS Record label.
Meanwhile, the single artwork and the RDLG EP were done by Milandi Amirulloh (creative director and designer), Syahada Esfahanne (creative director and editor), Greg Soegono (art director), and Domikakdo (director of photography).
For additional information, as a rock band from South Jakarta, RDLG has held many live performances at various venues throughout the capital since the band's inception in 2010.
RDLG has gone through many lineup changes. Not surprisingly, this single will give off a different atmosphere compared to their debut EP, Mari Dancing which was released four years ago.
